The “Whiz” as he was called, flew with the 8th AAF, 487th Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group during WWII and is credited with 15.50 aerial victories in the ETO, and followed these up with 5.50 victories over the Mig-15’s in Korea, giving him a total of 21.00 aerial victories in two years. He is one of the “Magic 7” to become an ace in two separate wars. |
